Rev. Carl Yusavitz

Since 2000, Carl Yusavitz has served as Director of Pastoral Services at Penn Foundation in Sellersville, PA. Penn Foundation is a behavioral healthcare ministry of the Mennonite Church USA. Before coming to Penn Foundation he was Director of Pastoral Care at Easton Hospital in Easton, PA and a clinical pastoral educator at the University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia, PA. Carl holds graduate degrees in Theology (S.T.B.) from the (Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome, Italy, 1974, Education (M. Ed.) from Boston College, Chestnut Hill, MA, 1981 and Fine Art Photography (M.F.A.) from Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY, 1984. Carl received his Doctorate in Ministry from New York Theological Seminary in 2007. He is a nationally certified pastoral supervisor with the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc. Carl lives in Philadelphia with his wife Mary. They have two grown children, Karis and David, both born in North Africa during a term of voluntary service with the Mennonite Central Committee. Carl was ordained a Roman Catholic priest on July 2, 1972 and was a professed member of the Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette for 14 years before resigning his ministry and being released from his vows. During those years Carl served the Catholic Church as a seminary administrator in Washington, DC, and a pastor in London, England. Since then, Carl served the Church as a pastor, chaplain, and pastoral educator. He is currently endorsed for ministry by the Federation of Christian Ministries and serves on FCM’s Circle of Directors and Committee for Specialized Ministries.
